Evaluation
When I started this course I had no idea what the course was
actually about, however I had a small idea of it was about. I did not take
media for GCSE because it had nothing to do for what I wanted to do for the
future. This was chosen for me so if it was chosen I have to make a good
impression. The same applies for the final cut pro; on the contrary I had taken
GCSE ICT so I have had experience with other programmes which is similar to
final cut pro, For example Serif.
When the course began I suddenly realised about what the course
was about, storyboarding and using different shot types and transitions. I learned that creating a storyboard is one
of the most important parts of media; you need this as a guide to what you need
to do about how to create your film. You cannot just go and do what you can,
you need to plan, and you need to study.
Organising the filming part of the process was challenging, being
in a school limited the places where we could film as we had to respect the
other students who were learning. Not only that but having to create the
different camera shots, using the light to create effect and using the correct
location to make a good scene.
Overall I knew how to use edit software from my ICT GCSE course
last year, using tools such as crop, cut and the basic import/export system, we
had to create a music video in ICT so that gave us an insight on how to edit
the film and create it into a working film. After doing this project I still
don’t think I am confident on how the filming works, I wish to develop my
understanding of keywords and how to accurately use camera shots.
